The TV show Prison Break contains characters of various personality traits and characteristics. The main character Lincoln Burrows is accused of murdering the vice president of the United States and has been scheduled for death penalty. His brother, Michael Scofield, who is the structural engineer, tattoos the blueprints of the prison and feigns a bank robbery to place himself in there and free his innocent brother. Michael is a static character because he stays determined until the end of the entire show. His psychologist said that he is a genius, which is why his perception of the world is completely different from that of anyone else's. In the prison, Michael falls in love with the prison doctor, Dr. Sarah Tancredi. She is a dynamic character because the situations in her life made her change completely. She use to be a morphine addict (as a licensed doctor) and always stole needles and morphine from the hospital she used to work at. One day when she was walking home from work, she witnessed a car hitting a child. As she ran towards the child, she was unable to control herself because she was under the influence of the drug. People saw her badge and begged her to help the child, but she felt extremely weak and lightheaded so she failed to do so. This particular moment in her life encouraged her to go to rehab and never use morphine again. Therefore, she chose to work in a prison and provide care to prisoners who are troubled like she used to be. She is a round character because as the show proceeds, we learn more about her past and what she values in life. We not only see her huge dedication and improvement, but also her romantic side when she falls in love with a prisoner. Another interesting character, Teodore Bagwell, who is a prisoner in the same prison as the two brothers, is a rapist, pedophile, and murderer. He is characterized as a static character because he stays that way until the end of the show. He never learns a lesson from all the troubles he faces. For instance, he was fortunate enough to be one of the prisoners to escape with Michael and Lincoln, but he never appreciated what Michael did and was jealous of his intelligence. He can be considered a flat character because he has a mental instability that made him the way he is. Therefore nothing changes his desire for killing and hurting other people. Until the end, he keeps on killing people and betraying those that helped him. As a result, he ended up where he originally was, the prison.
